Eyeliner 101

Applying eyeliner is a tricky task, but getting a straight line is worth your time.

Stand six inches away from a mirror and tilt your chin up, so that when you look down your nose into the mirror, you can see your entire eyelid.
Dab concealer or dust translucent powder on your upper lids. Blend well with a sponge or lightly pat with a fingertip to cover veins and prevent creasing.
Before applying liner, determine your eye shape. If eyes are close-set or round, line only the outer corners. Otherwise, rim the entire upper lid.
Soften the pencil top by rolling it between your fingers.
Gently pull your eyelid taut at an upward angle. Beginning at the inner corner, draw small, connected dashes along the top lashes. Be sure to stay close to the roots so there is no skin visible between the lashes and the liner. To make eyes look bigger, extend the liner slightly beyond the outer corners.
Brush a matching powder shadow on top of the liner to keep it from rubbing off.
Soften the line with a sponge tip or cotton swab by rubbing it slightly up and out at the corners.
Use a cotton swab to fix mistakes. For larger messes, dip it in makeup remover.

I am so tired of my pencil liner transferring to my under eye area! Seems like it transfers pretty easily but if you try to wipe it clean it won't come off! I tried this product for that very reason. I watch Garden answer and Laura always has eyeliner in her water line and around her eyes and it never seems to transfer. I guess a lot of people ask her what she wears and she said she came back to this product because if it happens to transfer it's easy to wipe off and she is exactly right! I have a terrible time with that issue. It looks like I just rolled out of bed 10 minutes after I applied my makeup. The older I get the worse it gets I guess my skin is just drooping, yuck! Although this is not as opaque as I like it will do because the other problem is much more concerning for me. Sometimes I like to skip mascara and just use liner in my water line but it makes a horrible mess. So far this has been very good. Actually it seems to have less transfer if any. When I'm applying it if I make a mistake I can rub it off with a cotton swab. I just wish it were a little darker but I'll deal with it!

I don’t see why these eyeliners are called self sharpening. The point wears off quickly and it never comes back. It’s sort of like drawing a line on with a round tip soft crayon. Rubs off really easily too.

Really great eyeliner at a great price! I have sensitive eyes that usually tear with most eyeliners but this one doesn't irritate my eyes. I have the Cocoa Ink shade and it's perfect for my blue eyes. You can put it on at 8am and it's still in place more than 8 hours later. It's easy to apply and easy to remove.

Even the smallest wind of this eyeliner resulted in it cracking and breaking off.
I only managed to use it on one eye once, every other time it broke and fell out of the pencil.
Very disappointed.

I love the fine point of this eyeliner as it provides such great precision. The fact that it is a retractable pencil is also a definite plus. The color is a rich chocolate brown and the pencil glides smoothly on the eyelids and on the waterline. It stays put all day and offers a much softer look compared to a black eyeliner. This really is a great formula and I use it mostly to line my upper eyelids because I prefer a darker color that offers more contrast for my waterline. Great purchase. Would recommend.
