Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in new formula I'm sorry to say this as I've been using this product since the 80's & it said Labello on the side and have always liked it. The new formula is different, it leaves a slightly more pasty feeling on lips, but the main problem for me is smell and therefore taste. It has an almost petroleum jelly smell and feel to it so instead of the easy going scent that I never remember tasting, it's almost like having a bit of Vaseline on your lips. I have an old tube & new tube so I can compare them side by side and this is my experience. It's not so bad that I won't use it up, but I'm not sure that I would buy this one again; I definitely wish they had the old one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't fix what isn't broke! When I first started using lip balm it was called Labello. It was later rebranded to Nivea which pretty much stayed the same so I continued with it. I recently ran out and purchased more but noticed it was labelled "new and improved". The new formula is sticky and feels thick and waxy feeling which actually makes my lips drier. Unfortunately, I won't be using your product any longer. It would certainly be to your advantage to bring back the old formula as it really was the best.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula is awful! I’ve been using nivea for years and loved in but the new formula is dry, tugs your lips and doesn’t help your lips at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New formula doesn’t work Not sure why change something that already works. Been using Nivea essential chapstick for years(bit of a chapstick addict) Didn’t notice til after I bought it that it was labelled “new and improved”. I was confused as to why it didn’t work like it use to. Not sure if the “improve”was to save money but it’s definitely not for quality sake. Time to find a different chapstick which is unfortunately since before the “new and improved” change Nivea was the best.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nivea Essential Lip Balm I got this product free from Influenster for my honest review. So, I actually gave this to my bf to review because he knows his lip balms really well & has dry cracked lips. He found with this lip balm it had to be reapplied frequently and didn’t offer enough hydration. When having the lip balm on and trying to drink water the balm would change consistency and feel greasy. Overall, he will use up the lip balm to finish it, but would not repurchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relatively good lip balm I got this for free from influenster and Nivea in exchange for my honest review. I did not try the previous formula one, but I think the current one is not bad. It is doing its job very well so far. My lip is moisturized, it is not very very thick and comfortable to wear under a rouge. However I give it a 4/5 because it is not the best lip baume that I have tried based on the effect, but for the price that is selling, I think it is pretty good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nivea I hoard lip balm and for years I used LaBello. Then it was bought out by Nivea. I stayed with the brand and found it almost as good once it was renamed Nivea. For Christmas my husband always buys me a good supply. When I opened one of the packages two days ago I noticed a new look. The new hydro care has a distinct unpleasant scent and is thicker. Why must they always ruin a good thing? Giving away my 6 double packages. Disgusted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Basic Lip Balm This is pretty much your standard, basic lipbalm, but it gets the job done! It keeps your lips moisturized for a long time, is colourless, and has a nice smooth texture. I really have no complaints, but I do have other lipbalms that I prefer so I probably wouldn't repurchase. If you like a lipbalm with no colour or flavour of any kind, this is the one for you. I received this product free for testing purposes.
